These photos are from my Southern African Mega Tour taken with Rockjumper Birding Tours. The birds were almost all LIFE birds for me thus I wanted to capture at least an ID quality photo. The tour is extremely fast-paced with little time to photograph the birds. Some National Parks and Safari areas do not allow people to explore on foot due to dangerous wildlife. The focus of the tour is to “tick off” as many bird species as possible including hunting for sulking and endangered endemic birds.
Photography challenges included great distances, extremes in lighting conditions, and very little time. This collection does not represent my best work but I’m still thrilled at the number of life birds I was able to see and photograph.
